The Lakeland Terrier is one of the oldest working terrier breeds, having been developed in Cumberland County, England, in the 1800s. Although the breed’s background is not documented, it shares common ancestors with the Border Terrier, Bedlington Terrier, and Fox Terrier.
Lakeland Terriers are small dogs, most weighing 15-18 lbs and standing around 13-15 inches tall. Depending on his mood, his expression ranges from intense and determined to impish. His docked tail is carried upright.
